Valle de Los Altares, Trelew
(4.6/5 based on 120+ reviews on the web)
Explore the huge picturesque red-yellow cliffsides and canyons at Valle de Los Altares. Giant rock formations make up the valley's topography, set within an arid region of Patagonia almost completely bare of vegetation. Look for numerous sites where Welsh colonizers once dwelled in the area. Consider taking an informative guided tour of the valley; you'll gain a better understanding of the land and its history, including the rock markings made here millennia ago by indigenous peoples. Pack plenty of water for your trip. Put Valle de Los Altares on your schedule, and learn what else deserves a visit by using our Trelew trip itinerary maker.

  • We traveled from Trelew to Epuyén, in the Patagonia mountains, through national route 25. It is worth making this journey! It is a beauty that one discovers on his way. Geography is impressive, the route passes through canyons of huge and reddish stones, towering and imposing rocks are figures on the sides. A beauty!

  • An ideal time en route to contemplate nature and observe the beauty of the landscape, imagining the footprints of the pioneers and their encounter with the original inhabitants that roamed there. Patagonian nature in its pure State! i

  • We chose to make Trelew - Esquel to take route 25. The recommendation came from the side of the Valley of the altars. The landscapes are beautiful, rocky hills that rise after miles and miles of plateaus. Like if driving and explore our Patagonia in auto, is highly recommended to take route 25, additional data: Los Altares, halfway through the tour, has a HERE with Inn
