Museo de arte Tigre, Tigre

Housed in an impressive building, Museo de arte Tigre combines art with stunning architecture. The museum finds its home in a former social club for elite Argentines, an elegant example of neo-classical architecture. Notice the luxurious details like iron gates, red oak floors, and bronze and gold leaf decorations. The museum changes exhibitions regularly, so there’s always something new to see, from sculptures to paintings. The main collection features Argentine art of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. The lawns surrounding the museum rival the sights inside, with leafy trees, and well-kept gardens. • The Museum is a work of art because of its amazing architecture, quantity of details, materials and decoration, it is a wonder that is well-preserved. Despite the fact that there are exhibitions of different artists of very good quality, the main attention is the museum itself. The way to arrive is also very nice and is not far from the river station. Admission is $ 50 pesos, at certain times there are guided to access details on its history and construction, accompanied by a projector where you can see a tape incredible, filmed in the era of the 1920's, at the hands of a German cameraman, When had a year of the creation of this new device, just spent when the Argentina was still one of the major countries of the world. You can see people of the time with very good image quality, still very curious to see people staying stationary in front of the camera since it was something unknown people thought that it was a camera. Highly recommended trip.

  • While we we were eager to see it on the inside, because we went a day and time that the Museum was closed, the majestic architecture of the same and the landscape that surrounds it is very enjoyable, we will return to meet him on the inside.

Where to stay in Tigre

Tigre and its delta surroundings are chock-full of choices for accommodations thanks to their popularity with visitors both foreign and domestic. The city center around the Tigre River features a number of smaller-scale apartments and family-run bed and breakfasts, while the areas closer to the delta itself are more beach-oriented. If you're looking to enjoy the area's famously lush nature, check out a "cabana"--these rustic cabins are omnipresent in the forests and marshes around town, and allow you to wake up with the canals and trees of the delta right at your doorstep. Since many of these countryside accommodations are only accessible by boat, they usually provide most meals. Keep in mind that more rustic charm in this case can also mean hordes of mosquitos at night.
