Delta El Tigre, Tigre

4.1
Explore a vast network of waterways and canals at Delta El Tigre, one of the region's most important former trading ports. Formed by the combination of the Parana River and several smaller streams, the delta long served as an outlet for the wood and fruit trade from the interior. Hop aboard one of the delta's many boat tours to explore the lush nature up close and get a glimpse of colonial-era mansions, waterfront settlements, and other landmarks along the way. Alternatively, you can rent a kayak or canoe to paddle along at your own pace, an activity popular with many weekend-trippers from the capital. Plan your visit to Delta El Tigre and a wealth of other attractions, well-known and undiscovered, using our Tigre journey planner.

The tour of delta el Tigre is certainly not a tour of the Venice of Argentina. It is more a tour of the Bayou of Argentina. We did the one hour tour which is well narrated and navigated but the honest...  more »

One so beautiful place to spend a day of recreation as to stay a few days. Sail between the Islands is an extremely pleasant walk. You can reach restaurants or "breaks" where in addition to eat have swimming pools in the summer months. There are Inns for all categories to stay as well as cabins and homes to rent. If you only want to spend the day in the vicinity of the port you will find a pleasant promenade with bars, restaurants and a couple of museums. The "fruit market" which sells everything less fruit, is a good place to buy crafts. Nearby there is a casino. It can be easily reached by train from Bs As city.

It is one of those wonders that surround you, revitalize, astonished. It is an artistic expression of nature imposed on anything. It is a passage full of colors that stops time in four seasons, each with its colours, atmospheres, and experiences. They can visit him, "do House", rowing, navigate, explore, whatever you want. Boys will be integrated with nature, fascinates them. Find your particular space there, don't miss it, yet is infinite, free, natural.

Where to stay in Tigre

Tigre and its delta surroundings are chock-full of choices for accommodations thanks to their popularity with visitors both foreign and domestic. The city center around the Tigre River features a number of smaller-scale apartments and family-run bed and breakfasts, while the areas closer to the delta itself are more beach-oriented. If you're looking to enjoy the area's famously lush nature, check out a "cabana"--these rustic cabins are omnipresent in the forests and marshes around town, and allow you to wake up with the canals and trees of the delta right at your doorstep. Since many of these countryside accommodations are only accessible by boat, they usually provide most meals. Keep in mind that more rustic charm in this case can also mean hordes of mosquitos at night.
