Piedra Movediza, Tandil
(2.6/5 based on 950+ reviews on the web)
See one of Tandil's most iconic tourist attractions brought back to life at Piedra Movediza. On this site once stood a famous 300-ton rock, peculiarly balanced on the edge of the hill. A century ago, scores of visitors would come to Tandil to see it. Unfortunately, the rock--which used to swing slightly back and forth--finally fell and broke in 1912. Today, you can view a very realistic replica, poised on the exact spot where the original once stood. Bring your camera, as you'll also have an excellent vantage point over Tandil. Put Piedra Movediza into our Tandil itinerary builder and find out what's close by, where to stay, and where to head next.

  • To say the moving stone, this close, has good views of the city, and has its appeal. Go to tandil and not to visit it is a pity...

  • A cute activity to do in Tandil, is a classic that became one of the places that you should definitely visit. Real stone is no longer, but have instead placed a replica and also indicated with a sign which was the original stone. The place is ideal for picnic or lunch in the shade of a tree. The climb up the place of the stone is not so high but I recommend to do so early in the morning on hot days, as they are a few steps and sloping. Once at the top is also a great view of the city.

  • A very good tour family (must be a minimum of physical training). All the trail is perfectly marked and is very easy to access. You can not miss this visit on your trip to Tandil
