Cerro El Centinela, Tandil

4.1
True to its name, Cerro El Centinela keeps watch over the plains below. Literally "Sentinel Hill" in English, the distinctive rock formation, consisting of a large rock balanced precariously on another below it, has attracted generations of Argentinean visitors. The top rock moves back and forth slowly over several hours, so if you leave something next to the point where the stones meet, you'll probably come back to find it crushed hours later. The park surrounding the rock formation offers several enjoyable, not-too-difficult hiking trails. • It is one of the most outstanding tourist sites of the city. It has everything a little to make, I'd like there are more spaces or paths for power walks, in that sense is a bit limited travel.

  • We were in December with my spouse, a weekend-long Saturday, there were a lot of people and little place to sit down, in the end, I suppose that it is normal at some time. We ask two hot dogs with a tiny portion of fries and a pitcher of lemonade, they charged US $370-we feel swindled, after having dined at a confectionery from the Center, three dishes each for $400.-a pity that they abuse in such a way. The rest of the complex, beautiful!

Where to stay in Tandil

Thanks to Tandil's popularity as a weekend and holiday destination for domestic and international tourists alike, it features a wide array of accommodation options suitable for just about any budget. Downtown you'll find a number of larger-scale hotels and rental apartments that offer privacy, onsite dining, and fancier accoutrements catering to business travelers and tourists. In order to get out into nature, many visitors opt for "cabanas," traditional Argentine cabins in the surrounding countryside; bear in mind that these are rustic and charming but only practical if you have access to a car. Booking ahead of time in the summer high season is an absolute must in Tandil, as lodgings fill up fast.
