Castillo Morisco, Tandil

4.0
#7 of 11 in Sightseeing in Tandil
Castle Tourist Spot
Local tourists flock to Castillo Morisco for the unusual architecture, reasonably priced food, and panoramic views from the top of the building. The building itself, modeled after a Spanish castle, was donated to the area by the Spanish community in the early 20th century. The onsite restaurant serves affordable, no-nonsense food such as pizzas, hamburgers, fries, and several pasta dishes. The main draw here remains the stunning alfresco views afforded from the seating areas. Make Castillo Morisco a centerpiece of your Tandil vacation itinerary, and find what else is worth visiting using our Tandil vacation builder.

Where to stay in Tandil

Thanks to Tandil's popularity as a weekend and holiday destination for domestic and international tourists alike, it features a wide array of accommodation options suitable for just about any budget. Downtown you'll find a number of larger-scale hotels and rental apartments that offer privacy, onsite dining, and fancier accoutrements catering to business travelers and tourists. In order to get out into nature, many visitors opt for "cabanas," traditional Argentine cabins in the surrounding countryside; bear in mind that these are rustic and charming but only practical if you have access to a car. Booking ahead of time in the summer high season is an absolute must in Tandil, as lodgings fill up fast.

  • Great place to have a panoramic view of the city. With a natural setting and a very nice building. Place to visit and easy to access. Ideal for taking photos.

  • One of the attractions or rides most expected is the Parque Independencia and the Fort that is located on the hillside. You can visit at any time since it is a free ride but an interesting visit is to the evening, near sunset, see how the dark begins to turn the city of Tandil. Really beautiful.

  • None of the other world. Nice view. But the arrival is not nothing simple, and once in the place there is little place for parking, and see. It is only the front of a castle, and a bronze statue of Hernandez. A kiosk with several things, and not much else.
