  • The church Our Lady of Belen de Susques is constructed of mud, with its cardon gabled roof. It was built at the end of the 16th century, in 1598, and is the oldest of Jujuy Temple, although some say that it is the oldest in the North of Argentina. Typical lines of the plateau, with its interior walls decorated with paintings of flowers and birds of the region, it is inspired by the Cuzco school. The image of the Virgen de Belén is a true relic and the bells were cast in Chuquisaca, at the height of the colony. According to tradition, an image of the Virgin of Bethlehem was found under a stone. In the same place, at the beginning of the 18th century, the Jesuits, aided by Aboriginal people, built a church with bells brought of Chuquisaca. Corners of the atrium of the Church, surrounded by a perimeter wall, chapels are located on backside. The building has one nave and a simple Tower of three bodies, ornamented at the top.
