  • Very good place not missed from Comodoro Rivadavia 26 paved route 110 km. then 45 km from Sarmiento 30 km of gravel or rubble of both State depends on its maintenance and date of the year. For those who do not know the Valley of the Moon in the province of San Juan, is a similar moonscape with areas of hills of colors that correspond to different eras, but the incredible place are the petrified trees, whole trunks or their chips some enclosed is your "sarcophagus" of clay. The Park has service Ranger, a small reception with a mini Museum interesting and bathrooms. Remember to bring water and sunscreen. The minimum tour is an hour and a half walk from mild to intermediate difficulty.

  • The ride is worth it is great, near Sarmiento. A gravel road Council must move slowly to avoid accidents. Another area close to travel on the farms of the Colhué Huapi, to see how to get there is to go to the tourist office.

  • Tough place to get to, for us we were coming from Esquel, many hours by bus in the Patagonian steppe! What you see is well worth the inconvenience necessary to achieve it. It is not now and grown trees lived here but about 150 million years ago, it is actually petrified fossil trees. Many are still in the same location in which they lived, while others have not been moved since I've fallen. I mean there's a whole petrified forest that is coming to light, one of the most impressive ever discovered. Fossilisation was so perfect that he guesses even the structure of the wood, the body and even rings. It really is amazing. All the ground is littered with stone chips that look like wood shavings!
