  • The Santa Catalina stay is located in a rural area that has preserved its natural environment. The stay, whose organization was started by the Jesuits from 1622, retains the largest set built by the company outside the city of Cordoba. The set is composed of Church, the cloisters, galleries, courtyards, the workshops, the tajamar, orchards and the ranches. The Church has an imposing façade and Baroque influences, has curves and straight lines and has two towers. It has a single nave with Latin cross plan with a major dome over the transept. Next to the Church are the small cemetery preceded by a portal recurring features of the facade of the Church and the residence that has three courtyards, annexes premises and huerta. Separated from the main body of the stay the novitiate, the rancheria, the tajamar and remains of irrigation canals and mills are. Of all the Jesuit estancias Cordoba, it is the only privately owned, so it is not possible to visit the inside of their buildings. To visit the interior of the Church and the courtyards, an entry of $10 for patios and $15 for the Church must be paid and the visit is accompanied by a guide. The whole building which is in very good constructive condition is a national historic landmark and world heritage. It is not possible to take photographs inside the Church. You must be aware that to get to the place, distant about 20 km. of Jesús María must take a gravel road about 12 km from extension whose status is not ideal. There is no public transportation that reaches the place.

  • You have to make 14 KM of dirt road in poor condition. The Church could visit only by that as it was Sunday was the owner family of the place and we were able to visit nothing more. Inside the church you can not take pictures or film. Frankly very bad experience. Still do not understand, as being historical humanity heritage, there is no better care and service. I do not recommend to go it is a real lack of time.

  • Get means take a 12 km dirt road from route, with caution is perfect, and the place is beautiful, a great stay, the more large province of the Royal Road, you can visit for the price of 25 dollars, which are used for maintenance expenses, the tour includes the Church and patios, with included gua Of course. The price is because it is a monument of humanity by UNESCO, the property still being private. The place is beautiful and you can also picnic in the front yard without need to enter or pay the entry, but I think it is undeniable!
