Where to stay in San Rafael

Many tourists choose to visit San Rafael on a day trip from Mendoza, a bigger city with more lodging options. For travelers wishing to explore the wine region from San Rafael itself, the town provides plenty of rooms in establishments that range from basic hostels to three- and four-star hotels. The least expensive lodgings cluster near the main bus station, an area popular with backpackers and other budget travelers.

  • It is a pink salt. Going from San Rafael to Malargue, you going to look like a big stain pink to the left of the path. Worth a stop a few minutes and approaching the salar. There is a small visitor center where you can buy very rich flavored salts and bath salts, in addition to see up close the salina itself. Good choice for visit pass.

  • Very good talk giving about the origin of the salinas and very good products that sell, elaborated in the place

  • Great place to learn, not to be missed. Unique Salinas open in the region. I welcome the decision by the company that is in charge of the exploitation, harvesting and marketing of the salinas opened the gates to the public, to the tourist. He had already been on two previous occasions in San Rafael and never had the possibility of knowing them to be privately owned and be closed to the public. I appreciate the opportunity and the privilege of being there and the excellent attention of Lorraine who I called his mobile phone to request a visit. Already, a recognition to Walter, operator of the company who gave us a talk on the Saltworks and products derived from the harvest. We take this opportunity to also buy varieties of flavored table salts that are commercialized style gourmet as well as the bathroom. Thank you Walter for the excellent predisposition and attention! A place not to be missed!

  • It is run to Las Lenas. Stop for some good pictures. Something the factory deteriorated by the same salt. But a beautiful landscape for good catches and more if the water does not move

  • Something new to learn, there is only a minimum bar for a drink. The Museum of salt very well explained, compared to sales of other salars, Córdoba, Chile, sale of bath salts. Good vibes. You can explore everything, beautiful experience for the family. Wear sunscreen, hat and sunglasses!
