Canon del Atuel, San Rafael

4.8
A popular outdoor excursion spot, Canon del Atuel connects two lakes and cuts through the heart of a mountain range. You can tour the canyon via several local highways in the area, which wind along the river through rugged gorges accented by towering rock formations and dusty hillsides. Keep your eyes peeled for dams, mountains, and reservoirs along the way, some of which boast rock formations eroded into distinctive shapes. On some stretches, you can hop aboard a kayak or river rafting tour to brave the canyon's wild rapids and chutes. • We went out to the 09.00 hours of the hotel by the car of my friend and we started to travel with beautiful scenery along the way until we enter into the rubble and cornice of the Canyon Road. Cannot be described with words what it feels like in each ins, tante of travel. Mountains of a different color and shapes, water running down winding, a few km long and several dams along the way to reach the Nihuil and indescribable beauty. A pond with trout and perch. A very good restaurant of the Club of fishermen. The village of nihuil. We returned by the path of asphalt after a tiring day, but with some unique experiences

  • The atuel River Canyon is a natural accident magnificent and it is essential to visit it if you visit San Rafael. The recommendation is to go to Nihuil 144 route and then begin the descent down the barrel. The landscape is unique. It should have a little patience because the road through the Canyon is of Earth and gravel but the landscape is worth it.
