Museo Paleontologico, San Pedro

4.3
#2 of 6 in Childrens Museums in Central Argentina
Walk stride-in-stride with prehistoric creatures at Museo Paleontologico. The museum's permanent exhibits boast a collection of more than 20 species of mammal fossils. Housed in a restored 19t- century mansion in the heart of a historic town, the museum was opened in 2003 by a group of amateur paleontologists. The first and most well-known piece of the collection is the fossil of a giant armadillo that had inhabited the area for thousands of years. After studying the various fossils and skeletons, try your hand at paleontology with a simulated excavation. • It is small, but nice to visit with kids. Worth seeing it, if you are a little interested in Paleontology

  • The Museum has a very friendly format for children and adolescents, is not the traditional and sometimes boring format for children. The Museum has put its pieces recreating the atmosphere of the time. A different place to learn about prehistory! Highly recommended to go with the family.

  • Very nice Museum. Renting that someone takes the trouble to explain not only the above but also in the place where is located a bit.

  • Place with a very special appeal. The guides are very clear in the explanations. I recommend to go through the Museum if they go to San Pedro.

  • The entrance is accessible. A variety of fossils very well explained the origin of them. Lack of State support. It shows that it is job to lung. The only thing the schedule contained in Google maps is wrong. Open with cut hours. They make guided visits to schools.
