Casa de Gobierno de Tucuman, San Miguel de Tucuman

(4.3/5 based on 170+ reviews on the web)
Grand and architecturally significant, Casa de Gobierno de Tucuman shines with architectural, historical, and political significance. In 1908 under the governor's commission, architect Domingo Selva set out to bring some life to the previously lackluster cabildo that housed the government. Selva's design was an eclectic rendition of the French Baroque, with an influence of Italianate architecture. The interior decor is just as ornate; most well-known is its White Hall. You can take a guided tour of the interior; be sure to check tour times in advance. • We entered a few minutes after the last tour of Government House. Beautiful building, full of stories and beauty. The best: the young lady who explained to us everything pertaining to the White Hall, cordiality and kindness with capital letters.

  • Really a Palace... I was in Tucuman, an old but rather preserved city last week. The architecture is excellent, those details, forms and others... simply amazing and very nice. Unfortunately I could not come to the site because they are outside the range that is allowed visitors.
