Route of the Seven Lakes, San Martin de los Andes
(4.8/5 based on 2,600+ reviews on the web)
Route of the Seven Lakes connects some of the region's most important bodies of water by road. The 107 km (66.5 mi) route, which connects San Martin de los Andes and Villa La Angostura, winds through Andean scenery of mountains, forests, and waterways, passing through two different national parks along the way. Drive along the road to enjoy sweeping views over the lakes, many carved out by glaciers millions of years ago. Be sure to bring your camera, as you'll find plenty of viewpoints and stops offering panoramic shots of the surrounding area. Though the Nahuel Hapi and Escondido lakes are perhaps the best known, plenty of other smaller lakes also line the route. • The best thing is to plan before leaving and taking the time to get to know all the Lakes, trails, waterfalls, etc. And also for wildlife watching. From the same route there are detours to other cities nearby. Highly recommended

  • The best time of year to know Nequen and Rio Negro provinces and make the 7 Lakes route by car. It impresses the force of nature that one goes through while delves into their places. The routes are well maintained and there's barely anyone so the experience is unique. Abound the viewpoints with wonderful landscapes, the desire to put the feet in cold water, abundant vegetation and wildlife such as rabbits or foxes that show from time to time.

  • really this tour has stunning views, it is a long journey between San Martín and Villa Angostura but worth, the route is a little complex, but well worth the effort to do it, there are many vantage points available and access to certain lakes, there are areas of camping along the route (virtually there mobile phone coverage) but if you have time and desire to don't visit this beautiful route, you'll be surprised with the wonderful nature
