  • Be accessed after crossing a gravel road in good condition. It has several beaches bordering the peninsula. They have small parking lots. I went to the main call that is small but very nice.

  • We pass through Playa Yuco on way to Hua Hum and Nonthué. It is 27 km from San Martín de los Andes, going by the RP48, all gravel. Unfortunately, the day went cloudy and thus remained in the remaining hours. We stayed a while, resting, admiring this sort of Bay that gives the beach a different touch to others. We think of the colors which you can observe on this beach on a day with full sun; the deep blue of the Lacar Lake, with the green of the conifers and Coihue in the nearby promontory, the blue of the sky, the emerald green of the shallower water as it nears the coast, etc. etc. The Road downhill from the parking lot where we left the car crosses a beautiful Patagonian forest and is an attraction in itself, although not very long. Up to the parking lot, we saw that there are other paths and places, not too big, prepared to leave the vehicles. It is to imagine that on a day with a very nice climate, it must be filled with people who are going to spend the day. In such a case, it would have to do if there are no problems to be able to leave the car parked. It must bring food and everything you need because there is no way to buy anything in many km. RADIUS. In any case, before reaching Yuco, close to the stone of Trompul - area inhabited by residents of Mapuche origin, posters offering bread, pastry and some other provisions are. Finally, should be noted that, like the RP61 which borders the Huechulaufquen by its North Coast, RP48 bordering Lake Lácar to Hua Hum and the Chachin cascade, is gravel, but well bad, with many miles of "saw". It is incredible that the RP48 is in these conditions when you have a high level of traffic because of the Hua-Hum international pass to Chile. Increasingly there are more Chilean and Argentinean vehicles using this route to cross toward one or the other country. Once in a while there is a motor grader to improve the surface of gravel, and on other occasions (few) any hydrant truck throwing water to quell the dust, permanently in the air given the number of vehicles that pass. But it is clear that not enough how little that make national parks and/or Vialidad Provincial de Neuquen. I think that it is absolutely necessary to paving, higher priority the RP48, much before. We could not return to Yuco on a bright day, but no doubt we will endeavour to do so at the next opportunity.
