Be sure to pack your camera as you head to Mirador Arrayanes, an excellent vantage point looking out over San Martin de los Andes. The lookout point sits above one of Patagonia’s most picturesque cities, with views of the crystal clear Lake Lacar, framed by rolling green hills, all contrasted with the modern, Latin-flavored, urban architecture of the city. Grab a tea cake from one of the concession stands near the viewpoint to add to your experience. • We started the viewpoints circuit leaving the hotel in the Centre of St. M. de los Andes. The road is uphill and the first viewpoint is the Quila Quina is located across Mapuche lands. We went in combi, the road is gravel approaching the Lake and it is worth making the trip all in one day. It takes about 3 to 4 hrs and travels around the Lake Lacar. The second viewpoint is that of Ensenada with the Lanin volcano in the background, and the third is the viewpoint of the MyrtleS. All uphill, beautiful photos can be removed. For those who know the way, the last viewpoint returns to the city, already with paved road and leads to the beaches of Lake Lácar towards the city center.

  • It is a vantage point 5 km from the city, which can be reached by car or walking. Car is a road paved road and very broken gravel; Walking is the same with the aggravating circumstance that routes do not have shoulders and the journey gets a little dangerous even if there is heavy traffic. In all cases, all the way is hard up for what gets a little tiring. The vantage point shows a beautiful postcard of San Martín de los Andes, and nothing more than that. It is not the big thing, only for a photo.

  • Very nice place to go to see the bigger picture and take pictures. Slightly sacrificed for a very new or small car.

  • Great panoramic views of the lake and San Martin de Los Andes. Easy accesible by car, approx 4km from the exit of the town. Don't miss the sign on the right in a big left turn. Hint : after the Mirador continue 500m to find la "Casa de te"! Check it out on g maps.
  • Beautiful view of Lake Lácar!
