Mirador Arrayanes, San Martin de los Andes

#9 of 37 in Outdoors in San Martin de los Andes
Be sure to pack your camera as you head to Mirador Arrayanes, an excellent vantage point looking out over San Martin de los Andes. The lookout point sits above one of Patagonia’s most picturesque cities, with views of the crystal clear Lake Lacar, framed by rolling green hills, all contrasted with the modern, Latin-flavored, urban architecture of the city. Grab a tea cake from one of the concession stands near the viewpoint to add to your experience. • You can see nice view and go to auto, there is much more than that, it is on the other side of Lake Lácar, opposite the Bandurria viewpoint

  • We went to the Arrayanes viewpoint by car. At some point, the road uphill - everything from gravel or earth from the Sol which is abandoned - becomes uneven and uneven, forcing to go in 1st, slowly and carefully. Outside of that, it is not complicated. In 20 minutes you arrive from the Av. Costanera, where begins the road, on the left side (looking from S M of the Andes to the Lacar Lake, a mile from the start of the paved road that leads to seven lakes). The decks on a slope of el Mirador are very good, and can be very good photographs of both the city and the Lake. Sunset it would seem that it is the best time. As it is the climate, can be very good pictures with sunlight or cloudy skies. The Arrayanes viewpoint is the only one on the South shore of Lake Lácar, and is complemented by the Mirador Bandurrias, on the North coast of the same. The day was cold and seminublado, but achieved very good photos with the Sun's rays passing through small openings in the clouds, giving the landscape a look unpleasant, stormy, bleak and lonely.
