Where to stay in San Martin de los Andes

Only a small portion of San Martin de los Andes actually touches Lake Lacar, but it's there that most of the best accommodations can be found. Cozy ski chalets and lodges make up the majority of places to stay here, although a few budget hostels offer something for travelers with limited means. During peak times, the town center can get quite noisy at night. Stay a few minutes out of town for a quieter experience with memorable views.

  • In winter can be dangerous even if during the rest of the seasons is relatively simple, go early. I recommend to take water and something to eat. I recommend going in the fall (va for all the South) there is nothing more beautiful than red mountains Orange and yellow. It is worth 100%

  • Went through it in the middle of a race, the Patagonia run. It is a very long climb but it makes it a beautiful and abundant vegetation. The slopes are not too strong and it can be done without major problems. It must be some physical training because it is too long. When you reach the Summit area have stunning views. Lake and mountains. It had snowed a while before, and that gave him a framework more beautiful still. Down did it on the other hand and again a view of another Lake. Be careful with the descent because there is a lot of sand, which be dry can be a little dangerous. For those seeking outdoor activities, it is an excellent choice. Bring water.
