Trip Planner: South America / Argentina / Northern Argentina / Province of Salta / San Lorenzo / Nature / Quebrada de San Lorenzo
Trade in the busy lifestyle of Salta for its verdant suburbs and accessible, biodiverse cloud forest at Quebrada de San Lorenzo. Hike or take a horseback ride through the lush forest, where you'll encounter crystal clear streams, orchids, ferns, lichens, and bromeliads. Wear sturdy boots and expect damp conditions in the forest. Back in town, check out the number of restaurants and bars at the entrance if you've worked up a thirst or appetite. A tour can take to some viewpoints, the road starts along a stream. Highly recommended. Try not to go too late, with my family did and between cloudy day and the lush vegetation in the last stretch of return had low visibility.

If accounts with budget is also a very good choice, since the Gorge there is a very nice bar (highly recommended pizza), there are stalls of handicrafts and local food. You can also hire a tour, although I do not recommend it. It has parking for those who go by car. I recommend visiting the Gorge after noon and spend all afternoon. P/d: take shelter which is usually colder than in the city

Alternatively, you can upload, hiring guides that are found there, to the viewpoint of the hill from where you can appreciate the beautiful city of Salta. This is the ideal place for those who wish to be with nature, climbing the Hill by the river you can find variety of mosses, fungi and beautiful wild plants under the shade of the tall trees that border it; the birds also add to the beauty of the place. This ascent is easy because the river bed is composed of rocks of different size, just wet sneakers in doing so. Plants, trees, water, Sun, shade is colluding in a beautiful landscape and help recover the serenity and peace that we need so much in our lives.
Awesome views/nature. Has tables and grilling area (bring your own grill). Great for weekend BBQ. Has public bathrooms and two restaurants
Very beautiful place, but the trails aren't well-maintained and it's supposedly private property, so no one is sure if it's allowed to go there or not
