Where to stay in San Juan

Within Av. Circunvalacion sits the main bulk of San Juan's places to stay. Plush, modern high-rises tower over the central neighborhood, while older, more traditional hotels line the edges of the main urban parks and plazas. Budget-friendly options come in the form of unassuming, converted residential blocks and rental apartments. If you head outside of the ring road, you'll have a choice between relaxing lodgings on the estates of local wineries, and a good selection of back-to-basics campgrounds.

  • It is the main square of the city. Very neat, with benches where you can rest a while while observing the movement of people to its around. It has two large sculptures in the Centre, the Domingo Faustino Sarmiento and the Fray Justo Santa María de Oro and a very nice source, in which stray dogs take advantage to take water. Facing the square is the Cathedral, the Spanish Club and several bars.
