  • This magnificent Museum just of meet eighty years from its Foundation, with such motive is organized various activities, among them an emotional shows both of them works made as them acquired by a group of artists that, starting from them years ´30 believed in this ambitious project; throughout their lives they cared and increased artistic heritage overcoming serious situations such as the earthquake that destroyed much of the province in 1944; It is important to note that in those time there were sponsors and however made this "dream" with effort and the support of a genuine ideal: the construction of the pictorial tradition, the creation of the founder of the Museum Committee and the twist that gives the local art to the landscape and the engraving, area is that my father is a reference. Born in San Juan, in other Argentine provinces and countries between 1888 and 1905 were the protagonists of the artistic life of San Juan between 1930 and 1944, had an active role promoting, from different areas, the construction of the Bohemian, the cultural modernization, thus producing a shift in local art, achieving official support which guaranteed the authenticity of its actions , the articulation with the artistic life of the region and the country, the expression of provincial and national identity. Visitors can visit the sample until the month of March including, known and appreciated throughout the Museum that "nest" in a modern building designed by an architect and painter San Juan and enjoy, not of a dinner in his small but cosy bar-restaurant.

  • The Museum occupies a modern and functional building, with installations of advanced, inaugurated in the year 2011. Its rooms are very well organized and in paintings, prints, sculptures, photographs and drawings are exposed. Many of the works belong to renowned artists such as Antonio Berni, Pettorutti, Raquel Forner and Quinquela Martin among others in its two plants are different rooms, one of them dedicated to works of local artists, another temporary samples and the remaining to the permanent collection. The Museum also has an auditorium, library, souvenir shop and according to what they told us personnel in the future will be running a bar. The Museum is open from Tuesday to Sunday from 12 to 20 hours and the value of the entry is $20 and $10 for seniors and students. On Sunday the access is free. In synthesis, is a Museum of good quality in a flawless building that is worth the pena visit
