  • The truth is that an earthquake can be devastating, San Juan and other Argentine provinces sometime had great earthquakes. The San Juan in 1944, where almost all the capital of the province was left in ruins, few buildings were saved, in fact the birthplace of Sarmiento while a part was reconstructed saved much of the building. Images in photos and newspapers of the time, tell pain depths of a country and a city devastated by nature. You can also enter the past through the door of the Simulator and feel the experience of the movement, with the intensity and the duration of the earthquake that toppled San Juan in 1944. The pain, the solidarity of the people of Argentina to survivors and the experience of feeling an earthquake, everything is captured in the train station, today a museum. The Museum of urban memory.

  • It is worthwhile stroll to well - know with photos of the moment - on the earthquake in January 1944 in which destroyed 90% of the city. At the end there is a simulator of earthquake where the floor moves and see how it feels, with the exact time that lasted that tremor. Entrance free

  • they had a great idea to show the part historica de San Juan, with their different experiences, taken at the opening of the train terminal to which assisted the President J.A.Roca - episodes taken during the earthquake and its consequences - and a room that played the movements taken during the earthquake - beautifully presented - to visit
