Horacio Quiroga Home, San Ignacio

3.8
#2 of 10 in Historic Sites in Province of Misiones
Share in the life and times of a national institution and hero at Horacio Quiroga Home. The famous 19th- and 20th-century playwright, poet, and short story produced many nationally loved works. The pleasant walk through a sugarcane plantation leading to the house features small kiosks detailing Quiroga's life. Don't miss the chance to see some of his old possessions, which double as interesting period pieces: a camera, a bicycle, and even a butterfly collection. Be aware that staff here don't speak much English. Plan my day in San Ignacio using traveler tips and tourist information provided by Inspirock.

  • The Museum is small but very interesting for the readers of Latin American literature or to encourage children to read. It has very little staff and it shows also not to have support. Audiovisual equipment nearly does not work neither. They told us that being provincial, municipality not your State interested. What's more, almost no signs of getting. If they are to visit the ruins, visit this Museum, which is a way to support and disseminate the work of this great writer.

  • Nothing out of another world... the story of the interesting and manageable Guide. Not us bored! for those who ever have read the tales of the jungle, was interesting to see "replicas" on a path.. .de anyway I can not fail to mention that most of the structures to watch, listen to the stories do not work!

  • He was disappointed by the visit. Women's entry was alone therefore asked our witnesses to make us "the visit". He put him wave and told us that he has experience in tourism, but the truth, knew very little about the author and about the houses. We were able to visit the first House. Not allowed us to go to the second. We had her to look out the window. It is the first time that a museum I look out the window. Then there is a circuit with three sculptures, with audio of stories. It was not any of the audios. The truth, the ride does not justify the value of the entry. It is a pity because the houses are very well armed, but the visit is very poor.

  • They are two small houses full of tools and other things from home, but it is nice to visit her, I went twice, it has a load of emotional and historical, that if you predispones you experience, it is only. On this last visit we toured the trail between tacuaras, a beauty. All things very well-kept, guides to the height and beautiful view of the Paraná from the patio!
