Trip Planner: South America / Argentina / Litoral / Province of Misiones / San Ignacio / Horacio Quiroga Home
Share in the life and times of a national institution and hero at Horacio Quiroga Home. The famous 19th- and 20th-century playwright, poet, and short story produced many nationally loved works. The pleasant walk through a sugarcane plantation leading to the house features small kiosks detailing Quiroga's life. Don't miss the chance to see some of his old possessions, which double as interesting period pieces: a camera, a bicycle, and even a butterfly collection. Be aware that staff here don't speak much English. Plan my day in San Ignacio using traveler tips and tourist information provided by Inspirock.

He put him wave and told us that he has experience in tourism, but the truth, knew very little about the author and about the houses. We were able to visit the first House. Not allowed us to go to the second. We had her to look out the window. It is the first time that a museum I look out the window. Then there is a circuit with three sculptures, with audio of stories. It was not any of the audios. The truth, the ride does not justify the value of the entry. It is a pity because the houses are very well armed, but the visit is very poor.

We visit a replica of his first House, wooden, with some original furniture, then you look at her second home in stone (from the outside). The garden is very nice and well maintained. It is Quiroga and his friend peon who planted the trees. There are a few interactive animations, including saved stories to listen to in a bamboo forest, but only half was working during my visit. I am only 4 stars, because I preferred my previous visit 4 years ago, with a sordid details amateur perfect guide, and a museum less ordered but more authentic, a sinister, tropical and great atmosphere. Difficult to distinguish the original parts in the middle of a little too clean reconstructions. This is a very nice visit!

Mauro PaganoAugust 3, 2017The place was very cute, with the original structure of Quiroga, but was not well maintained. The vast majority of audio stations do not work, travel from jungle tales worked only the audio of one of the 3, and monitors the audience should show photos of Quiroga, do not work, none of the 4. A shame that the owners of the place importe les little, keep a historic place in a good way.
Ana InesJuly 30, 2017A magical place full of secrets that will unveil to explore it. It was very moving to be in the House of Quiroga and see the things that belonged to him and above all the letters to a friend in his own handwriting. Safety pin!
Ramón MezaJuly 22, 2017We liked the visit. A recommended experience, especially for those who know the literary works of Quiroga. Visit this place has the magic of all those characters in their stories to recognize in the landscape and its surroundings. It's worth the time.
