Where to stay in San Fernando del Valle de Catamarca

Most accommodations cluster in the streets surrounding the Republica thoroughfare, with colonial-era buildings on the main boulevards housing some of the most luxurious options, and a scattering of more informal hotels and guesthouses flanking the neighborhood's side streets. Look farther south for a selection of more budget-friendly places to sleep, with hostels and guesthouses fitting in with the look of the primarily residential streets.

  • Obviously the little importance for the preservation of this part of our history, it needs to be put in value

  • Considered national historic monument, this large relic is located in the Centre of San Fernando, occupying almost a block, and consists of a complex of buildings that were built in different times. It is believed that this Franciscan church was built between 1882 and 1891 by architect Fray Luis Giorgi. Only we could admire its exterior facade, which is imposing architecture, since in our passage through the city, it was closed. However, and to be seen affected its building, and hence unsafe State..., entering it is restricted to the public. What if is to the view from the street, is the monument to Fray Mamerto Esquiú, whose heart was preserved until a while ago, in an urn of the convent, and has apparently been subtracted, without having been recovered so far. A shame!
