  • It is a famous way of cornice about R P 2, which amounts in the mountains through beautiful landscapes with an exuberant nature and where in its Summit you can see majestic condors that roam the sky spread its wings. So beautiful is the place that Polo Gimenez-compositor, pianist and Argentine interpreter gave a landscape of Catamarca zamba letter "... "Landscape of Catamarca / thousand different shades of green with a small town here another beyond / and a long road which falls and is lost..." The cost of the pass is located in the Valle Viejo Department, 18 kilometers from the city of San Fernando in the Valley of Catamarca. The climate is seasonal. The annual average precipitation is around 500 or 600 mm. We can identify two biomes along its path. These biomes are mountain Chaco forest and grassland altoserranos. It is 1700 meters above sea level and the Ancasti mountains reach 2100 meters more northward. At the top we find the recently opened Inn Polo Giménez... very beautiful! (T.E.: 0383 475-4341)

  • If you go to Catamarca an obligatory visit. Just 20 km from the capital, it's a beautiful walk. It costs has several hostels, where is can stop the car and rest, enjoy of the views and also there are small posts where can buy wines and sweet typical of the region. You have to climb with the camera ready because the landscape is amazing and perhaps a condor Cross and you want to take that memory. There is good coverage of mobile by the height. Ideal for disconnecting.
