  • We said goodbye to Bariloche at the lake and made a traditional asado and brought kayaks. We had a perfect time!
  • I think most people are confusing the Lakes of Chico and Large circuit Circuit with this site. The Lago Steffen is very nice, but is about 50 kms de Bariloche. The entrance is a little hard to find because they don't have many cards, you have to take a dirt road to the right of the Ruta 40, for toward the Patagonia, and walking 10 kms until you reach the Lake. Has a good infrastructure for camping. In the middle is the Lake Huala Hué. The entrance road is just before a written Board Cañadon de La Mosca. Note that during the summer the road is one-way or back.

  • We took the trip with the idea of getting to el Bolson, but young children did not want to travel more and made ourselves comfortable situation, we then reach the Steffen Lake which already had references. We were during the hours that are allowed to download the 7 km of gravel that separates it from Route 40. It is a path in zig zag, but not dangerous, that if avoid it if days earlier rained. We arrived at the Lake, very nice landscape, the green color of the water, trees, mountains, the ducks, the sunny day, peace and total silence, all dreamy... but where was the people? We were completely alone with the small kids... no services, no nothing... (there is a private campsite, but we do not imagine that there was nothing nothing) we find a few tables and set up the picnic. For my peace of mind in a few minutes came several vans with boys and parents of graduates that would by the river rafting excursion. They told us that during the summer is full of people who spend the day. We ate alone, we play in the beach with the kids and when authorized to upload time frame clock we went behind the vans leaving the beautiful lago Steffen single again.
