Circuito Grande, San Carlos de Bariloche

(4.5/5 based on 200+ reviews on the web)
Cruise around Circuito Grande to see craggy mountains and seven pristine lakes, all in one day. Weaving between the seven iconic lakes, then following the Limay and Traful rivers, the circuit spans nearly 250 km (155 mi) and makes for a long day trip. Most recommend driving the circuit counterclockwise to appreciate the best scenery in the morning, and saving the easiest road for the end of the day, when you're tired. Stop for a meal at the lakeside town of Angostura, where you can enjoy a relaxing picnic on the beach. If you feel like more of a physical challenge, cycle the route over a handful of days, camping along the way. Put Circuito Grande into our San Carlos de Bariloche family vacation planner and find out what's close by, where to stay, and where to head next.

  • It is the second time that I'm going to Bariloche and do this tour, but this time in family (with Zig Zag Travel Agency) and all went it very well. With those landscapes, the Guide (Gabi) and driver (Maxi) which were very friendly, which made very enjoyable excursion. This time we did the tour upside down for as did it previously. First US led address Villa the Angostura, but made a stop in Bay Manzano to take some photos. Then stop in Villa the Angostura where us gave time enough for to see this small but beautiful city. We made a brief stop at the mirador del Lago Correntoso. Then we headed towards Villa Traful, very small but with some landscapes and a charm incredible (seems of tale). We ate here, we visit the Church, we toured the port... then went to the "viewpoint of the wind", with those views to the Blue Lake that you recorded stays forever. Started the return to Bariloche and can appreciate the Valley delighted with its rocks of forms whimsical. Finally we stopped at the Amphitheater. The excursion is all day long (lasting 9 hours approximately). Part of the route is by gravel. I went with two children and they passed it very well (not tired at all). I encourage you to do this beautiful (and complete) excursion and you can enjoy it as much as we.

  • We had a cloudy day and rainy semi, what not overshadowed the beauty of the places visited. Villa Traful, beautiful (did not know) and La Angostura of always charming. Both Confluence and the enchanted Valley and the Amphitheater did with Sun, gave us breathing space. Not be missed, it should be done ever. After four trips to Bariloche, I did it for the first time and I loved it.
