  • The trail is well marked by red circles on the stones and trees. The quick bite is quite steep but can be made even without trekking shoes, although this is recommended since there is much dust and loose stones that make it difficult to grip with common slippers (also seen lowering a troop of boy scouts from the hill with sneakers canvas without any difficulty). In the first instance you reach a bar, from which the views are breathtaking, and if it follows the rise can access the refuge Lopez. The staff are very friendly (and do some good patties), advised us to keep going and reach the peak tourist but crumple and went down after reaching a middle lagoon. I have to admit that it cost us enough that part of the rise because it required to climb various stones. The scenery is more spectacular the more upload, the issue is to have the fitness necessary to climb but also to not get sore the next day.

  • It took six hours total from the road snack bar at Rio Lopez to the Refugio Lopez and Back. Quite steep most of the way but no scary passages or big drop offs. Great Views most of the way. Lots of loo...  more »
  • It is one of the hills that you should get if you visit Bariloche. The ascent begins in Brook Lopez, can last between 3 and 4 hours according to your capacity. It is quite steep, in the middle of trees, some mud if it rains, and at a time when the path ends is an uncovered road that leads to the refuge. The view is amazing, as well as plunging into the nature. It is well signposted and Midway a cabin there whereabouts, where you can eat or drink something, but it isn't to stay. In the refuge you can stay or continue until you finish the climb to cerro, also is point to other shelters, where some hikers make the crossing of four shelters (ask locals). Good physical condition is recommended, footwear appropriate carry hydrating beverages, canes if possible and par camera recorded the landscape. Highly recommended.
