Capilla San Eduardo, San Carlos de Bariloche

4.2
#2 of 6 in Historic Sites in Province of Rio Negro
A small church with big views, Capilla San Eduardo boasts markedly English architecture and reminds visitors of the role European powers once played in this part of the world. Designed by architect Alejandro Bustillo and erected in 1938, the church features a simple rectangular floor plan topped with a gable roof and a small bell tower. Made of stone and wood, the building contains a frieze depicting episodes from the life of St. Edward the Confessor, the last Anglo-Saxon king of England. The church occupies a scenic spot on high ground and rewards visitors with sweeping views of the surrounding mountain peaks. • Nice to visit if you're out there (e.g. rn Llao Llao or port) takes you 15 min because it is small but picturesque.

  • Shown in 10 minutes, it is very small, they have put it in value, is most beautiful, you are welcome to visit it and the environment. Thus, produced, has been a little bit artificial (a "DIsney effect"). NOT go especially to see it, and - if gone - I recommend going to the musical camping. Ideal for cycling.

  • It is located in the small circuit, we could not see it on the inside but it is very beautiful. It is close to port handkerchief and the hotel Llao Llao.

Where to stay in San Carlos de Bariloche

Despite an abundance of economical lodgings, most budget-friendly options in Bariloche get fully booked well before the start of peak season. Hotels charge the highest rates during popular ski months (July and August), when you're least likely to find a cozy room without a reservation. Mid-range hotels near the town center remain the best option for most tourists, offering car rental and tour arrangements along with the usual amenities like free Wi-Fi, cable TV, and laundry service.
