Capilla San Eduardo, San Carlos de Bariloche

4.4
#2 of 8 in Historic Sites in Province of Rio Negro
A small church with big views, Capilla San Eduardo boasts markedly English architecture and reminds visitors of the role European powers once played in this part of the world. Designed by architect Alejandro Bustillo and erected in 1938, the church features a simple rectangular floor plan topped with a gable roof and a small bell tower. Made of stone and wood, the building contains a frieze depicting episodes from the life of St. Edward the Confessor, the last Anglo-Saxon king of England. The church occupies a scenic spot on high ground and rewards visitors with sweeping views of the surrounding mountain peaks. • It is a beautiful chapel that you can visit if these are the Llao Llao or the port, has a beautiful view for pictures. Inside this very well maintained and is always very quiet, don't usually see lots of people there.

  • The Chapel itself has no great attraction, but is the vantage point from where you can see perfectly the hotel Llao Llao, which is one of the icons of Bariloche. You can access particular drive and Park next to the Chapel, or hire the excursion "circuito chico", which includes a stop in this Chapel to see the views from the hotel and the landscape in general.

  • Beautiful
  • A beautiful chapel, designed and built by architect Alejandro Bustillo, in 1938. It is the area of LLao LLao, has a montañesca architecture, made of larch wood, which gives it the characteristic color, inside there is a frieze, works of Raúl Soldi. Great parking in the back. A place not to be missed visit.
