(3/5 based on 200+ reviews on the web)
Stop off at San Antonio de los Cobres to see the charming architecture of a remote settlement, and meet its equally charming residents. Located in the Andes, the dusty little town offers a number of cultural attractions, including a house that keeps llamas, and a quaint church. Snap photos of the simple, squat houses against the barren, mountainous backdrop. You'll get offered plenty of souvenirs during your visit, with much of the local industry now geared towards tourism. That said, the town offers authentic food, with a number of small restaurants and cafes serving local specialties. • Travel to S.A. de los Cobres in moto is something spectacular and unique. We went in January and Salta heat made us leave Salta very light clothing to get up with jackets. The first part of the trip is to a large extent very new, above is little without it then, as it appears to be at work there are several detours and many very neglected sections. But you must go... San Antonio de los Cobres is reach for the sky in the middle of Puna... And if you do it on a motorcycle you will enjoy it much more.

  • The end of Ruta 40 approaches ... and this country represents a necessary step. Ancient mining village, made up of small houses, where route 40 intersects with 51, the views become majestic, and travel increasingly difficult due to the continuous rains and landslides that cut the steps, breaking the path.
