#3 of 11 in Historic Sites in Salta
Take part in one of South America's most powerful spiritual experiences with a visit to Virgen de los Tres Cerritos, renowned locally for its likeness of the Virgin Mary. Though erected in 2001, the church's story started back in the early 1990s, when an apparition of the Virgin was allegedly spotted on the hill. Since then, the hill has served a holy site for Catholics around the world. Join the Saturday pilgrimage to visit the chapel with thousands of devout locals, or stop by during the week for a much quieter, more personal experience. • A blend of emotion, faith, hope, love and delivery. A magical place. Observe the same in everyone, really touching. The place is very clean, tidy and well handled the issue of the location and the rows. I will always return.

  • Whether you're a believer or curious the Jesus Eucharistic heart divine mother immaculate 100% worth the visit. The expression of faith and the feeling of peace that they feel are surprising. The ascent to mount can be through collective or on foot (800 walking down the Hill). Provides pilgrims with prints and water, amount of chemical toilets and emergency room for any inconvenience. ALL there is on the Hill is delivered free of charge and are not asked any kind of economic collaboration, only respect and silence. If doubts if ir or not, do it, really worthwhile. You can change your life!

  • Very nice experience for all the Catholic believers to visit this site. We wanted to go on Saturday which is the Livia Sra.Maria, who is the person who makes the intercessions, but us was impossible so we went today. The place has a peace and a very particular energy that is felt just one arrives. We toured it very quiet and it also has beautiful views of the city. If you come to Salta is a visit not to be missed.

Where to stay in Salta

Salta's status as the tourist hub of northwestern Argentina means that a wide array of accommodations has sprung up throughout the city. The majority are concentrated around the city's grid-like center, surrounding Plaza 9 de Julio. For something more relaxed and closer to nature, go southeast and explore the area around Parque San Martin. You can opt for anything from a healthy range of budget accommodations, including hostels and small guesthouses, all the way to luxury hotels.
