Museo de Antropologia de Salta, Salta

(3.6/5 based on 150+ reviews on the web)
Come face to face with millennia-old mummies at Museo de Antropologia de Salta. The attractive museum displays the less-than-ideally conserved mummies, as well as a range of artifacts from the indigenous peoples who lived around Salta before colonization. Climb up a steep hill to get to the museum, which also serves as a scientific research institute and regulatory body in the fields of archeology and paleontology. Bring a Spanish speaker along with you, as the museum doesn't offer any information in English. • The Museum was in replacement of materials, but just could make a smaller tour, was very interesting; but most interesting was even talk that we had with the girl who was in that moment in charge, who told us many things and kindly gave us a book.

  • This museum, despite being small, brings together an important collection of archaeological items of extraordinary value. Among them, the Paleolithic tools; vessels; funeral urns; figurines; belonging to local Tastil or Aguada cultures. In a superior room, there are a lot of objects in repair. My only criticism is the lack of information about many parts, which does not allow us to know the origin of them. Anyway, it is worth to visit this site. Free entrance.

  • It is an interesting Museum, it seems to me that you need a bit of assistance, has or had a mummy, it was unfortunately not cared, you should go to see it.
