Cerro San Bernardo, Salta

(2,400+ reviews on the web)
Mountain
Hike or take a cable car up to Cerro San Bernardo for sweeping views over town. Rising 285 m (935 ft) above the city, the hill once stood as an island in a prehistoric sea--as evidenced now by a huge number of fossils and geological layers under its surface. A funicular from the city's central square whisks you up to the summit, where the plain and surrounding hills form an expansive landscape. Alternatively, tackle the 1,000-plus steps to the top of the hill. Keep an eye out for city landmarks like churches and stadiums emerging below. Plan your visit to Cerro San Bernardo and a wealth of other attractions, well-known and undiscovered, using our Salta travel itinerary maker.

  • Is to visit by day and by night, two different views. You arrive by car to the top and is good. Confectionery expected more, as well as the attractions on the Hill.

  • No doubt it is an attraction that one who wears Salta cannot do. A unique view of the city of Salta from the emblematic San Bernardo Hill. You can climb both by car, foot or via a cable car. Don't forget to visit him.

  • Decent lomito completo sandwiches. Great views of the city.
  • Ok views, lovely walk up or down is good, if brief, exercise - the cable car is lovely too.
