The Dr. Ángel Gallardo Provincial Natural Sciences Museum (in Spanish, Museo Provincial de Ciencias Naturales Dr. Ángel Gallardo) is a public museum in Rosario, Argentina, specialized in biology. It was founded by Professor Pascual Maciá (a professor and zoologist) in 1945, and is currently administered by the provincial state of Santa Fe.The museum was formerly located in the National University of Rosario Law School (a national historic monument built in 1889). On July 1, 2003, people attending a demonstration organized by labor unions launched fireworks and other pyrotechnic devices to attract attention, near the building. A fire broke out, forcing its evacuation. The fire damaged or destroyed around 50% of the facilities, including 80% of the museum (with the loss of 11,000 of its 13,000 exhibits). The reconstruction of the museum required around 2 million pesos (US$660,000). The remaining exhibits were restored, and the seat of the museum was moved one block, to the building that houses the delegation of the provincial government. The museum was re-inaugurated on July 6, 2006, downsized, with a more modern concept including interactive displays.

  • Collections, decimated by a fire caused by trade unionists, to make matters worse are supposedly kept in tanks. This museum has nothing but propaganda in favour of the so-called "indigenous peoples" and ideological messages of left. Ideological contamination, they say it. Painful, very poor.

  • I am a frequent Museum visitors when I travel and I think it is a good choice for people who know the topic and those who do not know also. It has interactive activities suitable for all ages (you can go in family). It is a museum that has few samples, which have are well presented and interesting!. The building is very nice and is well maintained. One of the things that also need to be eesltar of that area of Rosario is how they maintain the facades of the old houses, personally find me beautiful. I think that if you have time go to see him. Is not a Must to visit, but is very good for families or simply to learn more about flora and fauna Argentina!

  • It is a pity, they have "ideological you" with the progres dogmas and all possible prejudices. First some brutal trade unionists set on fire it and remained unpunished. After the Museum, or his remains, fell in the hands of Liberals. Little to do, with rife with signs of prejudice and resentment.

  • It is a beautiful Museum, with free admission. Recommended for children since it is entertaining for them by technology and resources that are in each area to explain in each sector. In all apartments there are staff to consult by the exhibition and they were all very kind.
