Museo Municipal de Arte Decorativo Firma y Odilo Estévez, Rosario

(4.3/5 based on 170+ reviews on the web)
Appreciate one of the architectural and cultural jewels of Rosario's historical center at Museo Municipal de Arte Decorativo Firma y Odilo Estévez, a museum and gallery located in the former home of the Estevez family. Donated to the city in 1968 by Dona Mayor Estevez--in tribute to her late husband, Odilo--the museum collects works accrued by the family and displays them within the mansion's Italianate rooms. Admire the variety of works on display, including European paintings, jewelry, and textiles from across the globe. Head to the room at the very back of the building to see temporary exhibits. • Museum of art decorative "signs and Odilio Estevez"-San Lorenzo 753 is is located facing the Plaza 25 of Mayo, along with others buildings of great value historical and artistic as are the Palace Municipal, the Cathedral Basilica of Na. Ms. del Rosario and the building of the Central post. This museum was opened in 1968 on the basis of the donation made by Mrs Firma Mayor de Estévez to the city, after the death of their spouse. This consisted of collections of works of art and other objects that were acquired by her family for 30 years. Also the donation included the large house dating from the 19th century with its facade clad in Carrara marble, built in Italianate style and where currently operates the Museum. In twelve halls are exhibited in permanent collections of paintings by European authors from the 17TH to the 19th, ivories, Spanish-American silver, tapestries, carpets, glassware and porcelain

  • As several other Rosario place remained closed. Giving back to Apple for another entry there is a person of very friendly guard who explained the situation to us and allowed us to go up and see what they could, some rooms had prohibited the entry. What little that saw is very interesting, hurts not to see the input that has with sculpture and must be excellent.
