Erected in memory of Manuel Belgrano, the man who created Argentina's flag, Monumento a la Bandera (Flag Monument) cuts a striking figure in Rosario's skyline. Consisting of a 70 m (230 ft) tower, a courtyard, and column-style monument, the complex celebrates Argentinean independence, obtained in the early 19th century. Make sure you check out the small underground museum, which explains the flag's history and provides other information about Latin American countries.
