Monumento a la Bandera (Flag Monument), Rosario

4.7
Erected in memory of Manuel Belgrano, the man who created Argentina's flag, Monumento a la Bandera (Flag Monument) cuts a striking figure in Rosario's skyline. Consisting of a 70 m (230 ft) tower, a courtyard, and column-style monument, the complex celebrates Argentinean independence, obtained in the early 19th century. Make sure you check out the small underground museum, which explains the flag's history and provides other information about Latin American countries. • If you go to Rosario and not go through the monument to the flag you missed as essential. The place is exciting and all that represents, moreover, beautiful environment, from its streets, squares, the waterfront. Diversion!

  • Nothing to clarify, all who know the monument knows what it is, does not have anything weird just to visit, get to know and photograph

  • We went 3 days in a row to the monument and we could not climb the lookout because it had broken the elevator. We call the contact telephone, serves an answering machine and leaves you hanging waiting for you until you get tired. Regrettable.

  • Its a beautiful place to just sit down and unwind. Its definitely a place to visit when you are in Rosario.
  • Enjoy a spring afternoon or a summer night with the river in front of you and an impressive monument at your back.
  • Landmark in Rosario where every june 20th, the countrys presidente holds a ceremony in honour to the argentine national flag (light blue and white with a sun face in its middle). Espacious place with 24hs acces to walk or seat and enjoy the quietness and view of sorroundings.
  • Beautiful monument. Best time to visit during evenings.

Where to stay in Rosario

Crowding around the city center, most accommodations in Rosario sit within a few minutes' walk of the Parana River's west bank. Budget options remain plentiful in the central districts, with an array of hostels catering to Rosario's younger visitors. Boutique hotels offer something for mid-range travelers, while luxury accommodations are relatively rare. If you want something quieter, consider the neighborhood of Del Abasto, south of the city center.
