Laguna Azul, Rio Gallegos

(4.4/5 based on 120+ reviews on the web)
Admire the striking color of the water at Laguna Azul, a lake located within a dormant volcanic formation in Patagonia. Don't forget to bring a camera along, so you can take pictures of the contrast between the intense azure lake and the steep slopes of the volcano’s crater that surround it. Keep an eye out for various rare birds, including bandurrias and South American ibis, in the area. • It is a beautiful, impressive place. Super quiet. Down the road not marked, so we improvise on the fly. A windy day is not advisable to go.
