  • English freighter that caught fire in Rio Gallegos in the beginning of the last century. It was subsequently used as a target by Argentine aircraft. Is now stranded on the beach of Punta Loyola. The site is a pebbly beach, icy waters with very strong winds. But very pretty. Access is by a dirt road. A new paved road is being built to facilitate the arrival to the site. Worth a quick for some pictures.

  • A gravel beach with the cold water of the South Atlantic, not indicated for bath but with a beautiful view, in addition to being able to meet the shipwreck Marjorie Glenn. It is difficult to access in the 500 m next to the ship, with gravel floors where you can bog down easily.

  • Boat built at the end of the year 1890 in Scotland intended for carriage of loads. A trip to Rio Gallegos in the year 1911, transporting coal occurs in a fire and subsequent sinking of the vessel. Mute testimony to the maritime trade of the time, you can see its structure in Punta Loyola, distant from the city of Rio Gallegos 40 km approximately.

  • Great place to unwind by the sea.

  • Its construction dates back to the year 1892 in Grangemonth, Scotland. On June 12, 1911 he sailed from the port of the city of Newcastle, under the command of captain Martin Holmsen, with a crew of sixteen members in total and loading to the Argentine town. Finally, the boat was given low after catching fire in September 1911.

  • Historical place... that should be preserved

  • Excellent ride, it's very cool to see a ship up close. Watch the road to here, a part is in rípio and another part was diverted by a road paved in terrible condition, with many large holes, such that walk in the rípio was much better. You can go, but you have to go slowly and very carefully.

  • Wonderful ride, could star best signaled, some areas more difficult to pass, but it passes. The problem is the road to get there, in September 2017 is on reforms, a piece of ripio and a part in terribly bad asphalt, with large holes and successively, you can go, but it takes a lot from normal vehicle. The ship itself is an amazing experience, the size, the position close to the sea, really beautiful. It's worth it.
