Plaza 9 de Julio, Purmamarca
(4.3/5 based on 500+ reviews on the web)
When you need a break from sightseeing, Plaza 9 de Julio provides a place to rest. Vendors, artisan shops, and cafes surround this square, where locals and tourists alike gather to people-watch and sip coffee. It's a good place to pick up souvenirs too, as prices tend to be cheaper at these stalls and the goods include hand-crafted, one-of-a-kind products. If you are feeling exploratory, walk away from the square down any of the connecting streets for even more vendors. Go in the morning for the best selection. Put Plaza 9 de Julio at the forefront of your travel plans using our Province of Jujuy vacation planner.

  • Purmamarca is one of the finest and purest of the Argentina. The warmth shy and respectful of its people, along with the natural beauty of its hills, among which stands the Hill of seven colors, and the hills that surround it called to traverse it and be amazed by nature tirelessly. You don't want to leave places like this, with its tranquility that invites introspection and more pleasurable relaxation. 100% recommended.

  • The craft market all around the square offers many crafts products although in Humahuaca prices for the same products are slightly lower.
