  • On new year's Eve 2016/2017 visited the Atlantic coast of Patagonia argentina, Puerto Madryn, Trelew, Rawson, Punta Tombo, Gaiman and the peninsula Valdés. One of those places I am now evaluating an attractive town of Rawson (the capital of the province of Chubut), which is the observation of "toninas overas" in the resort of Playa Union. Rawson is also known as the "mini Brasilia of Patagonia" on account of the architectural lines of their government buildings. How much disappointment. I was hoping to find something of buildings by Oscar Niemeyer as here in our Brasilia, but nowhere near saw something. The main avenue of Rawson has, Yes, the spoken government buildings, but are constructed in reinforced concrete that more closely resemble the prefabricated sheds and already worn by the action of time, not to mention poorly tended avenues and dependent on a good urban cleaning and trim their gardens. Access to Rawson is marked by dumps, no community than is expected of a provincial capital. Well. Playa Union is detached from the urban center of Rawson, separated that the river Chubut, precisely at the mouth of the River with the Atlantic Ocean. Aside from the beautiful Patagonian sea of an intense blue, the beach itself offers no novelty and is pretty quiet by the way, due to the cold temperature of the water. In Playa Union is a small port where you anchor the typical fishing vessels in the region, yellow and orange, depending on the vessel. The port of Playa Union also go out practice of the craft "toninas overas" which are smaller and dolphins in black and white colors, existing only in this region of the planet. The boats themselves are comfortable, but the sight of the animals is that they are ... The "toninas", in addition to very fast, are very reluctant and animals is a real luck to see the display in your flocks. I had the privilege of seeing a small group that approached the boat, but swam back and forth without much show. And I was at the time ripe to spot them. The tip I give to this tour, mainly for filming or photographing, is to have a strong stomach. Ocean currents from Patagonia sway very vessels and, hoping to get to and fro trying to find the best angle to follow the "toninas" the sailor end up having motion sickness and vomiting. It's not like pessimism on my part, but a ride like this meant too much expectations on something that deposit was not as extraordinary as well. I do not recommend, because there are many other things of "breathtaking" in Argentine Patagonia and that report in the future.

  • Linda Beach to visit in whale watching season, should get advice before you go, generally better onboard

  • They are beaches of very coarse sand with a steep slope towards the sea which makes the 10 metres from the coast water you get shoulders and is not standing. As the slope is large makes to the waves to break violently sweeping sand and stones leaving thick that hurt your feet if not used shoes to get into the water. (not exaggerating). The same violence of them waves wave the clay by what the water not is transparent as in other beaches of the Patagonia but opaque that not leave see the background or what is pisa. These beaches the people of Rawson and Trelew the proximity use but in no way are a tourist destination. Forgettable stay.
