Caleta Valdes, Puerto Piramides

(4.6/5 based on 110 reviews on the web)
Keep your eyes peeled for marine wildlife and sea mammals at Caleta Valdes, a beach area with the appropriate climate and geographic conditions to shelter various species. Enjoy sweeping views of the beach from one of several lookout points, which offer panoramic perspectives over the azure seas, backed by verdant cliffsides. Droves of elephant seals and Magellanic penguins live in the area, a reserve started in 1983 in order to protect these species, and others. Sea lions and birds also call this area home at various times of the year. • The section of Caleta Valdés is located approximately in the middle of the East coast of the Valdes peninsula. There is a large parking area with several buildings, from which some paths to observation sites go down. Of these out, one can observe numerous Crabeater, which mostly comfortably lie in the sand. Specially when weather is nice, this is an incredibly beautiful and peaceful place. When we in early November there were, the flow of visitors into borders continued, we were even alone most of the time of our stay.

  • Beautiful place despite high temperature .... many penguins at the time we were, full of them even close to us.

  • One of the best attractions of the peninsula, you can see from several viewpoints and appreciate from nearby penguins and other animals. If you have luck you can get to see Orcas
