Sendero Macuco, Puerto Iguazu

4.3
#2 of 11 in Outdoors in Puerto Iguazu
Immerse yourself in Argentinian wildlife at Sendero Macuco. Take a hike for 7 km (4.3 mi) roundtrip to experience the waterfalls. Along the way keep an eye out for local animal life, especially the Cai monkeys. These monkeys are indigenous to the area and can be seen in the trees and on the path. The path itself can be challenging, so be sure to wear proper shoes. Also, you may want to take swimming gear so you can plunge into the cooling pool at the waterfall. • I visited the great falls from the Argentinian side and I must say that I was fascinated by this force of nature. These catarattas as they are called here, are one of the great wonders of the world. The Park which is very well organized, you arrive in the morning, better if you organized with a taxi which then exit vi you up, do not expect crowded buses. I did five minutes straight at ticket offices, advice that's first place coin. Once you have your ticket, within you receive a number which gives you the right to a seat on the train from station to station, which takes in the main sites where it is possible to visit the falls. I've been there in August the weather was nice and not too hot. This month he is considered summer, so I found a lot of local families that were crowding, sites and train. However with a little patience you can walk into some the most important waterfalls, walking on metal walkways through the rain forest, where the landscape is wild and still unspoiled. Inside the park there are toilets and activities where you can eat. After the Walkabout, you can walk about 3 kilometers, Macuco trail, well indicated by signals, you get to a waterfall that plunges into a pond, there were few people and you can also do a nice refreshing bath, bring a bathing suit. Anyway I recommend this attraction, well organized, clean and safe.

  • I was in solitary tinamous safari 2. Argentine side and Brazilian side. The Argentine side is far superior to that of our side. Larger, more powerful boats, most daring commanders, a TOTAL of waterfalls. In no time you pass by a feeling of insecurity, on the contrary! Worth really worth, a show!!!

  • If you like walking through nature and do something different in falls, it is good. Uh, is that place you'll see! It is different. Average 40 minutes round-trip.
