Guiraoga, Puerto Iguazu

4.4
#1 of 10 in Wildlife in Province of Misiones
Pay a get-well-soon visit to recovering animals at Guiraoga. The sanctuary, located near the famous Iguazu Falls, nurses a range of wounded animals back to health, then prepares them for re-entry into the wild. You can see the adorable animals in their natural habitat on a guided tour around the sanctuary, which might be available in English, depending on your guide. Keep an eye peeled out for colorful toucans and parrots as you walk through the park. The money from your entrance ticket goes towards supporting the sanctuary's work. Very nice place for contact with the stories of animals and to see them live. There are animals in danger of extinction and this organization tries to reintegrate them in their habitat with an arduous task of reproduction or re-education when possible. The guide is very skilled and tells stories of mistreatment of animals to raise awareness and has details of the work to preserve the species of the rainforest, great ride. Once I was type 5 pm and there was no more room. Another day I was like 11 am and no problem. They have a limited capacity because arman contingent since it is a guided tour not you can walk only within the workplace as if it were a zoo.

The park captures wounded or confiscated animals on. If possible let them subsequently back smoking. As they themselves say in the beginning of the park: it's not a zoo. You can't know in advance which animals will be there. You start with a ride of about 10 minutes to the heart of the jungle. There you walk between the cages that on ' domes ' matches. The guide provides extensive information about the history of the animals in Spanish and English. Must do!

I think it's great that they focus on helping hurt animals, and rehabilitating them. I had a great experience being guided through the park and getting to learn about the animals.

Seeing the falls is beautiful and humbling - but chances are you won't see too many animals because there are so many people. Probably just coatis (trying to take your food - don't feed them, it's bad for their health!) and some birds. So if you want to see wildlife, don't miss Guira Oga! They help rehabilitate wildlife to reintroduce to the wild - so depending on what animals they are caring for at the moment, you can see some beautiful creatures you would probably never see. We saw monkeys, toucans, eagles and falcons, wildcats and more! It was amazing to see and our guide was so friendly and translated everything to English for us.

Nice place to watch birds and some monkeys. We had a bad guide that didn't want to explain in English. The rest is beautiful.

Great natural animal experience! Kind of like a zoo, but better.

An excellent wildlife rescue and rehabilitation centre - the guides are incredibly knowledgeable and helpful. I thoroughly recommend a visit, it's even possible to walk there and back from Puerto Iguazu (trust me, I did it!)
