  • Despite being 37 km away from the city centre-it's worth the ride-the road is compacted with many rocks but well-preserved landscapes until the place are very nice

  • To achieve this it is necessary to face a small attraction road totally rustic, but very pleasant to the eyes. The road and very bumpy and narrow, but it is not dangerous. The landscape around the Lake is magnificent, rustic and completely away from any trace of civilization.

  • From El Chaltén road to the southern tip of Lago del Desierto carries little more than one hour by car. He road is all of gravel and is that perhaps its best feature, because one feels that is goes in the nature to full and that all there still not has been invaded by the man. Color Milky green or turquoise rivers accompany us all the way, as well as lush vegetation with various shades of green and the mountain ranges. A time in Lake in the desert, did the navigation towards the tip North. Although I hired a trip in which we were only five people to sail, there is practically no guide during the tour, only a brief film that speaks a little of the area. They serve you a courtesy tea. The day was rainy in the morning, but that didn't stop to enjoy a quiet experience, during which we were able to appreciate many glaciers that abound in the place. After a brief stop at the northern end of Lago del Desierto, where is the gendarmerie post, took the return sailing to the reserve of the glacier Vespignani, where there is the possibility of three hiking: easy, moderate, and a little more difficult. We chose the moderate and the trail is beautiful, full of trees, well signposted and becomes a natural viewpoint of the glacier. At the turn, with Sun, we undertook the return sailing to the southern tip, where one can choose to take a hike to the Huemul glacier or by any of the paths that surrounds the coast of the Lago del Desierto and pausing to contemplate such a spectacular landscape. A place to post!
