(4.9/5 based on 260+ reviews on the web)
Encompassing a landscape of blue ponds surrounded by salty plains, Laguna Brava shelters vicunas and guanacos, two of the region's endangered species. The reserve covers some 405,000 hectares (1,000,777 acres), ideal for taking 4x4 tours and snapping pictures of the otherworldly environment. • Visit it by hiring an excursion in Villa Unión (company DS one, one block from the main plaza on route), went on a 4 x 4. It could be done in auto although some parts of the road may not always be well. Is to go enjoy the landscape, the colors, contemplate them hills. It is very high (approx. 4400 m asl) but we had no problems. It is good to remember that it is a reservation and should preserve the environment, trying to not to modify them. Road to the lagoon stopped in Jagüe, the last village, to buy some pies and bread stuffed that did there, that also is very recommended

  • Almost all this described in those postings earlier, only add that a vehicle normal, 4 by 2 can do it, the day that I went had a bora and a Corsican. Just consider the rainy season, where there may be cutting bridges and routes by flooding of rivers. He is encouraged to more, can reach the step black stone walls, where this custom and where there a post of provincial roads, which has wi-fi, and is amazing to send photos and footage of the place in real time, being that is in the middle of the cordillera. .

  • This is my second trip to this wonderful place. In my first frustrated attempt was in June 2015, we never got our vehicle, since it had snowed and all cars simple traction who travel with an enabled guide had to return. So we decided to come back! A beautiful place, with a traditional tour of 08 hours approximately, and you can make extensions to new points of interest by paying the difference. They detail all the Info official and our experience in the area... The reserve is open to tours year-round... BUT it has all guided access regulation which determines that from 1 October to 30 March is allowed. Then there is a veda that notes that the access should be in 4 x 4 vehicles. The truth is that all the year is make walks, but in autumn and winter them snowy naturally hinder them promotions, and are them vehicles all land them unique that arrive. There are three ways to upload to Laguna Brava: private car with guide enabled: some guides charge $200 to 250 pesos per person and others directly $500 to 700 vehicle. It must be borne in mind that from Villa Union is it goes almost 400 km round-trip, with 40% of GRAVEL that corresponds to the most rugged sites and extends to the higher slopes. Second choice is travelling with agencies enabled by the Ministry of tourism. There are 5 companies that offer tours in Villa Union. We traveled with TALAMPAYA excursions, with your guide. Took us in a 4 x 4 and prepared a guide to accompany us. (He was very pleased to have the Guide on board, as in our previous experience in your own car we just received Info at bus stops that were made since we were 5 vehicles). They gave us the time to take pictures and we travel very comfortable. In addition to insurance since they carry safety equipment and contingency equipment (oxygen, communication, blades, plates, etc) the value is approximately $950 pesos per person. In this enterprise we were able to pay with card. It is very difficult to achieve in Villa Union. The third is to travel with agencies following their trucks. You can only add type SUV or PICKUP cars. For the Guide fee and entry rates is paid. $750 Tickets are paid separately and are $30 and $40 pesos national and abroad respectively.
