Limay River, Neuquen

(4.5/5 based on 340+ reviews on the web)
Throw your line in and see if you can catch a large trout at Limay River. Known in particular for its excellent fly fishing, the Patagonian river flows for 380 km (240 mi) from Nahuel Huapi Lake, until it eventually merges with Rio Negre. Set up shop near Picún Leufú to give yourself a great chance of catching rainbow and brown trout, or choose another of the river's many good fishing spots. Ride a raft down the river, under the supervision of a guide, and learn about local cultures while admiring the nature surrounding you. By using our Neuquen vacation planner, you can arrange your visit to Limay River and other attractions in Neuquen.

  • The place is very nice for walking or for a picnic. The river is a little cold because it descends from the mountains, but can swim in authorized places.
