(4.3/5 based on 75+ reviews on the web)
Art lovers and wine enthusiasts alike will find a lot to appreciate at James Turrell Museum Hess Art Collection at Colome, an art gallery within a winery. Opened in 2009, this museum displays the works of American artist James Turrell, whose pieces are concerned principally with light and space. The interactive nature of the works becomes clear as you enter entire rooms drenched in multichromatic tones and hues, all set off by special use of lighting. Combining a visit to the museum with a wine tour should be easy: just walk the short distance to the winery. • It's not that far to drive here but the roads make it a long slow ride. Crazy that this winery and museum are here. The winery is excellent, but if you want to eat here, don't come without reservation...  more »
  • Looks like from the outside, do not give anything by that is when you enter the site, just one, and his art with the lighting factor is very interesting and cool, it's worth the program. Of course, in conjunction with the visitation of the Bodega for the program to be complete.

  • This museum is absolutely incredible, and worth the rather rough drive to get there. Recommended to book, especially in high season. Can't believe a tour is free ?!?
