Algarrobo de los Aguero (Algarrobo Abuelo), Merlo
(3/5 based on 650+ reviews on the web)
A tree that has lived for almost a millennium, Algarrobo de los Aguero (Algarrobo Abuelo) inspires admiration for nature. The "Grandfather Tree"--as it's affectionately called--takes pride of place in a park area surrounded by younger vegetation. Competing claims exist as to the old mesquite tree's actual age, ranging from 800 to 1,200 years. View the tree and admire the resilience of nature it represents, with its massive trunk and thick, twisting limbs. A market section of the park sells local food and souvenirs. • Near the town is a must place to visit the old carob tree and learn about its history. Ideal for an afternoon and buy souvenirs.

  • Place to tour and see an imposing carob. There are sold some crafts as well as books of poems written by Antonio Agúero.

  • The promenade towards the venue of the omen, where this carob tree which they say is is about 1200 years, it is very cute in the path passed by white stones, where you can find handicrafts at very good prices, very good people, kind and helpful. Already in place for entering you are asked a collaboration as entrance to the venue, where there are several options (is not very expensive). A big carob tree in the center of the place is very striking. There are toilets in perfect condition, and the possibility of travel trails to see the vegetation native and large number of birds that inhabit the area.
