  • In August 1886, the Congregation of the Pallottine fathers settled in Mercedes, they rented and then purchased a building that had been a convent of the Sisters of mercy Irishwoman. In later years they were adding the remaining lots of the Apple and the opposite, in 1887 the St. Patrick school opens and opens the first chapel. The present Church is the third and final Temple opened on March 17, 1932, being the main contributor the Keating family for its construction. The temple was designed by arq. Austrian Ernst Pfrechner and built by the engineer Luis Curutchet, was raised with a rare speed for the time, a year and five months. It is neo-Gothic style and has a tower seventy-two meters in height and of 27 meters. The high altar of Carrara marble and was executed in that Italian city by artist Bonetti. The stained glass windows, which were carried out on rock crystal by a firm from Germany, reaching a surface of 450 square meters, one of the largest in South America. Outside, the façade has a single central tower with rosette, watch on all four sides, Bell Tower and upper. Another needle, smaller in size, is located on the cruise. The ornamental elements refer almost exclusively to the gargoyles, with mythological animals, the gable (auction acute triangle that tops some Gothic buildings) is crowned by the sculpture of St. Patrick. Inside your equipment deserves highlight is the magnificent 4,700 pipe organ from the firm of g. f. Steinmeyer & co, in Bavaria, Germany, with an electric keyboard that has connection with the chimes of 24 bells, also of Germanic origin. It is also remarkable the rich craftsmanship of the built-in wooden confessionals.

  • Beautiful, has the body most big in Latin America. All July 09 and 25 may become concerts of campaigns and close playing the anthem at the belfry

  • This church of the pallottine priests is a true masterpiece of architecture. A beauty where look is, and above all is very well preserved and maintained. The star is its impressive pipe organ: the biggest that exists in all Latin America. A must-see luxury for the city.
