Villavicencio Spa, Mendoza

3.3
#2 of 6 in Spas in Province of Mendoza
Take in the panoramic view of peaks and valleys from the cream-colored mountainside chalet of Villavicencio Spa. The quaint spa and hotel have been closed for years, but the building and view it provides remain popular nonetheless. A hairy drive up a winding mountain road brings you to this scenic spot, but you may be more comfortable catching a ride with someone who knows the route. Bring your camera, as you'll pass many guanacos along the way. Don't forget snacks either, as the remote spot has no place to buy refreshments. • The trip make it from Mendoza and could see the lodge surrounded by a fog that leconferia gave a different touch. Continue towards Uspallata by way of the 365 curves. In a moment the fog disappeared and with bright sunshine you can admire the beautiful scenery. Much concentration to the handle and slowly advance. Foxes, I found in an area

  • Excellent place to learn about life in the 20th century. Extraordinary spot, allowing you to continue along another path towards Uspallata. A really extraordinary experience by the road that led us, by living nature through the foothills.

  • The truth, exceeded our expectations. The road itself, when entering the reserve, already is an attraction. Ascend by a winding road, (path of snails is called, by the number of curves) and the view is beautiful. Greenery, flowers and cacti. And the House of Villavicencio (old thermal hotel) very nice, where arriving, a guide makes you a brief history, and takes you to do a small tour of the place. If they go to Mendoza, don't forget to learn this beautiful place.

Where to stay in Mendoza

As the center of Argentina's wine industry, Mendoza offers plenty of conventional hostel and hotel options, as well as a good selection of short-term apartments for rent. Visitors taking language courses or spending several weeks on the wine route usually snatch these early in the tourist season (which lasts from mid-December to late-February), so it's a good idea to do some research and contact the owners before you arrive. Keep in mind that some of the town's hostels only offer beds to guests signed up for their wine tours.
