Villavicencio Spa, Mendoza

(3.4/5 based on 120+ reviews on the web)
Take in the panoramic view of peaks and valleys from the cream-colored mountainside chalet of Villavicencio Spa. The quaint spa and hotel have been closed for years, but the building and view it provides remain popular nonetheless. A hairy drive up a winding mountain road brings you to this scenic spot, but you may be more comfortable catching a ride with someone who knows the route. Bring your camera, as you'll pass many guanacos along the way. Don't forget snacks either, as the remote spot has no place to buy refreshments. • Since the beginning of the course until the arrival to the House, a fantastic place, incredible views, even in summer, where snow or rain no snow as it happens in winter, is recommended!

  • We did this tour on the second day in Mendoza, in the afternoon. It was quiet and very nice. The road is good, well flagged, the Park has many attractions and the hotel was closed, undergoing reforms. In my opinion it's not a walk. Probably worth more worth program use this time in another attraction. Not bad, but completely dispensable.

  • The road leading to Villavicencio is itself the ride attraction. It runs through mountain, mostly gravel and ledge road. When you reach the maximum peak height, is the cross of Paramillos, this place is historic since there became part of the army of the Andes. Parador Villavicencio is OK, and you can eat, the Hotel do not enter because it was closed and entries seemed a high cost to visit something in remodeling. But repeat if you like the mountain and the nature it not to be missed is the road. I recommend doing the stretch from Uspallata returning by Mendoza City. And take shelter atop it's been cold (a lot).
