Villavicencio Spa, Mendoza

3.3
#3 of 6 in Spas in Mendoza
Hot Spring Beach / Pool Club
Take in the panoramic view of peaks and valleys from the cream-colored mountainside chalet of Villavicencio Spa. The quaint spa and hotel have been closed for years, but the building and view it provides remain popular nonetheless. A hairy drive up a winding mountain road brings you to this scenic spot, but you may be more comfortable catching a ride with someone who knows the route. Bring your camera, as you'll pass many guanacos along the way. Don't forget snacks either, as the remote spot has no place to buy refreshments. • Wonderful place, nature, the mountains, the road, everything is beautiful. Hotel is in a fairly conserved State even if it is abandoned. The road is winding and climbing much but the view from the top is amazing

  • The attraction is not the hotel since he was appointed historical heritage a few years ago and is in repair after decades of neglect. You can not enter. Only can be seen from the outside, you enter the Chapel, balconies and gardens. Yet the guide was very explanatory so it is worth getting there. The path of snails is also spectacular. Priceless views. Up went a little further from the hotel where there is a viewpoint that t allows to see the hotel from the top among all vegetation. The entrance costs 150 dollars. The excursion lasts half a day. From 8 o'clock until 13.30 approximately

  • Eye is important my clarification, is a nice tourist place because of its history, but it is closed. Although interesting guided very expensive for what is offered ($150 per person ARG!) They tell you that it was glorious but then closed in 1979 and never managed to reopen. There is a chapel and gardens we saw very snowed very picturesque.

Where to stay in Mendoza

As the center of Argentina's wine industry, Mendoza offers plenty of conventional hostel and hotel options, as well as a good selection of short-term apartments for rent. Visitors taking language courses or spending several weeks on the wine route usually snatch these early in the tourist season (which lasts from mid-December to late-February), so it's a good idea to do some research and contact the owners before you arrive. Keep in mind that some of the town's hostels only offer beds to guests signed up for their wine tours.
