An easy (but long) hike from the city with great views from the top and a nice little cheap kiosko that serves cold beer.
I hiked it up right from downtown so it was quite the walk! Google's indication of getting to the top by foot is correct so if it tells you to go on the road that is one way (and not yours), listen to it as it is the shortest way up. Definitely take water. There is a small kiosko up there if need be. Prices not expensive surprisingly. But bathrooms are donation based. The monument itself is incredible and the signs explaining in both English & Spanish about it are helpful. You can take a tour bus up, but hiking it was much more with it for the view!
Juan Franco RiveroThe Hill of the Gloria is located in the city of Mendoza. Formerly known as "Hill of el Pilar", that by Decree of the Executive power was changed to its current name, on January 30, 1913. The Summit can be accessed by footpaths (there are some access ramps for the disabled), or by car for paved roads (separate ascent and descent) with multiple viewpoints. A few meters from the monument there is a parking lot for some 40 cars (micros are also allowed). There is also a police station and sanitary facilities.show original
